Diet-Based Bill Morphology

The goal of the illustration is to depict the heads of four species of birds whose bills represent four very different adaptations, reflecting the animal’s diet and related behaviours. It combines observational drawing, research, analysis, and synthesis of visual information. The assignment is an introduction to colour and natural science illustration, didactic illustration depicting diet and behaviour based bill adaptations. Synthesis of references from the Royal Ontario Museum and additional journal research.
